Shadows

Shadows

When our days seem dark and lonely
When the road is so long to travel
Shadows follow me wherever I go
My heart is heavy, my soul lost
There is no hope for the weary

Just at the moment I’m ready to give up
Jesus’ love embraces me
And the shadows are no more

Children all over the world cry out
Orphaned by a world of inhumanity

Mothers without a mate
Worry about a place to make a home

Our men go into battle in faraway lands
Fighting a war that is not our own

Just when they are ready to give up
Jesus’ love embraces them
And the shadows are no more

Oh Jesus
Let the light of hope always lead the way
Let the darkness of disappointment be gone
And your light of hope prevail
So the shadows will be no more
