Dreaming

Dreaming

It seems my days are of things

That only God can bring

Now blessed with the man of my dreams

Living the good life it seems

There is a longing for something more

A precious child for us to adore

All the little things, like saying prayers at night

A kiss and a hug make everything right

Watching them grow, stepping out on their own

Before you know it, they are grown

Praying for a guardian angel close by

To comfort them when they cry.

I know parents make many mistakes

Yet we try and do whatever it takes

O God!  If it is your will

Allow our dreams to become real

We promise to teach them all about You

To help them, no matter what they do

A miracle is what I am asking for now

I know it can happen…

Want you to know

Barbara C Rowe Author

I thought I would share something with you, for the people out there who are skeptical that a true soul-mate exists. I have loved several men in my life and all still have that special place in my heart. If you truly love, I believe you forgive all the bad things and remember why you were with them in the first place. After being single for several years and going through the nightmare of dating MR. Wrong. No offence to my male readers and followers out there. I finally quit looking and decided I was going to try to make someone’s day and (fake it, until I made it). You’ve heard the saying. I got all dressed up in my usual dress and high heels. I do love my high heels! First stop was the convenient store to gas up my car. I was a local and went to the…

Me, Myself & I…

Me: Wow, another Father’s Day…This makes sixteen without daddy. Two without the kids dad and now one without Tom. Crazy. Myself: You know that death is a part of life. I: Oh Snap, not more tears! Me: No, no more tears and yes I know death is a part of life dip shit…it’s just that when it’s sudden, it’s harder to take. Myself: And your mothers death was easier to “take”? I: *waiting for it* Me: Yes, yes it was. I knew she only had a few months so we talked, and laughed and cried. We made amends and were good. It was much easier. Jesus, why do you have to question every fucking thing I say? Myself: Because that’s my job. Besides, you are the deep thinker. If you think about it, you still get choked…

“Help from an Angel”

Barbara C Rowe Author

child girl playing doctor with toy

Help from an Angel

There was a woman lying in the hospital alone

There was a child there too, sick and on her own

Somehow life had not been so kind to either one

So in this place is where the miracle had begun

The woman was a sweet and soft-spoken thing

Uncertain what problems her illness would bring

The child was a little girl, about four, I believe

The life of this little one was hard to conceive

Regardless of why they both needed a friend

God had a plan for them to get well

Soon there would be an angel descend

For each to have hope, the outcome would tell

Doctors and nurses were kind and concerned

The woman, a widow for just a short time

Their circumstances, no one had yet learned

But the child was a victim of an abusive crime

One morning the woman…

Magic in the Touch

Barbara C Rowe Author

Magic in the Touch

There is magic in the touch.

All of us need the magic of the touch, a hug, or a kiss.

Human beings thrive on affections of all kinds,

and do not do well without the magic of the touch.

A small infant knows the soothing and comfort of a simple touch

and falls asleep feeling safe.

With a child, a touch and hug can calm her from misbehavior.

An adult does better at work, in social settings,

and intimacy of friendship with the magic of a simple touch.

As I fill my days with meaningless tasks,

how I long for a simple touch of kindness.

How does mankind go through life with indifference

when they are truly linked to each other?

We are forever needing the magic of the touch.
