“I’ve Got A Feeling”

I’ve got a Feeling

Little ones without a home or a bed
Children should be in our care
Not a place to lay their weary heads
God, the burdens they must bear
On the streets, day or night
Corruption is in the crowds
Not ever knowing the people’s plight
Not knowing the ones who cry out loud
Homeless, ragged, hungry, and sad
God, how could we allow things to get so bad?

I’ve got a feeling
Heaven’s angels are crying there
For we have lost our willingness to care
Look at all the ages in despair

I’ve got a feeling
The day of reckoning will come
The wrath of God will apply to some
People, some young, some old
Will find their place at heaven’s gate
The righteous will be brought into the fold
While the merciless will have to wait

I’ve got a feeling
Heaven’s angels are crying there

“My Old House”

My Old House

There is my old house, gray and worn.
I’ve lived in that old house since the day I was born
The screen doors are ragged and windows broken.
The cement porch steps are cracked and chipped,
And shingles are sparse and wind-whipped.

I played in that house with dolls and dishes.
I dreamt of boys and star-gazed wishes.
I cried when we were gone too long.
That was the home where I belonged.

School buses pulled up for us right out back,
And all of us kids were carrying a lunch sack.
Grandma doing wash and hanging it up,
In the yard, toys and tools strewn amuck.

As we became older and had our own,
We remembered the old house where we had grown.
Much love went into building that place.
Now the sight of it, what a disgrace!

Now years have passed and there it still…

Now years have passed and there it still stands.
I wish I could rebuild it with my own hands.
Grandma and Grandpa had us all there,
And all of us were happy, without a care.

I loved my old house.

“If I Should”

If I Should

When there is no one to talk to, I think of you
When there is no place to go, I explore in my thoughts
When there is a cloud hovering over, you are my shelter
When the darkness frightens me, you are there to protect

If I should go far away, I know you’ll follow
If I should fall, I know you will pick me up
If I should lose sight of my dreams, you will be there to encourage me
If I should leave this world, I’ll be waiting for you

Life has its ups and downs, and some find it hard to cope
There are always unpredicted hardships
But we find the strength to get through
In the midst of turmoil, there is always calmness with you

I write to you, for sometimes words spoken can be forgotten
And reading it can allow you to remember how much you mean to me
When you slumber, I watch you sleep with overflowing love
We walk side by side on our journey through life in peace

So Darling

If I should go far away, I know you’ll follow
If I should fall, I know you will pick me up
If I should lose sight of my dreams, you will be there to encourage me
If I should leave this world, I’ll be waiting for you

To you, my love, for being the wonderful husband that you are

Family may move away or become distant in their hearts
Friends come and they go like the seasons
Our place to dwell is always changing
Yet we stay by each other’s side

If I should go far away, I know you’ll follow
If I should fall, I know you will pick me up
If I should lose sight of my dreams, you will be there to encourage me
If I should leave this world, I’ll be waiting for you

“I’ll Follow You”

I’ll Follow You

As I live through each day of my life
Enjoying the things that others fail to see
Thanking God you chose to make me your wife
And embracing the hope of how our life will be

If you should choose another place to go
Traveling near or far for a home that is new
I hope in your heart you’ll always know
Wherever and how long, I’ll follow you

As each year passes and we grow old
We’ll still hold on to our love
The journey may take us to the streets of gold
But we’ll be together with our Father above

If you should choose another place to go
Traveling near or far for a home that is new
I hope in your heart you’ll always know
Wherever and how long, I’ll follow you

Life here on earth is just one step along the way
Hope our future together is the greatest of our time spent
And side-by-side we’ll always stay
For to be with you through all our journeys, is my intent

Father God, thank you for this man who has changed my life
Bless him abundantly for all the goodness he has done
Let him never regret for making me his wife
To request any other blessings, I’ll ask for none

For you see

If you should choose another place to go
Traveling near or far for a home that is new
I hope in your heart you’ll always know
Wherever and how long, I’ll follow you
