Through Her Eyes

Barbara C Rowe Author

Through Her Eyes

She passes way behind her house

to avoid the bullies and the stares.

The world makes no sense to her,

and no one seems to care.

A little girl of five,

what would she know of plight?

Hiding behind her bed

from the yelling of the fight.

Darkness is her friend

as she slumbers in her bed.

Visions of her life

won’t stop circling in her head.

Then it happens through her eyes.

He welcomes her inside,

a smile on His face,

and His arms open wide.

She’s found home in this place,

and asks Him His name.

She looks up to see His face.

He replies,

“I’m your Father, His Holy grace.”

She saw Jesus through her eyes.

Heart of a Warrior

Barbara C Rowe Author

I have posted this before, but I have another reason for posting this today.

not to go out to the car at night or empty the trash alone, but I did, only to run

into a man who was high on something and coming toward me.  Before I had time to react,

I saw my husband reach out and grab the man by the back of the neck and said calmly,

“Where you planning on going to the hospital tonight?”  The man wised off at my

husband, but then turned around…

I Could Get Arrested For This, I Think!

During holidays I have been known to get a little carried away with baking and decorating, but I loved it.  One particular year, I thought I would try all new baking and cooking recipes from my new friends.  I assumed that living in the mountains means you do everything that anyone would do anywhere, in any mountains.  Wrong again.  I wanted to make a mulled cider.  Apples were picked, which I had a scraggly old tree on the side of the property.  In fact, that year was the only year out of five; I ever saw an apple on it.  Funny, huh?  I loved to make goodies and then on Christmas Eve or close I would get all dressed up and deliver my gifts to all those I had made things for.  This year, I made a lot, and I do…
